Maid spears leg on fence in escape bid, alleges molest by employer
SIBU: A foreign housemaid speared herself on the iron grille of a fence in Jalan Tun Abang Hj Openg here on Tuesday while trying to escape her employer’s house.
The 18-year- old from Indonesia sustained injuries on her left thigh during the attempted escape, which she claimed was due to her employer allegedly molesting her on two occasions that day.
The girl had only started to work there this month.
The first alleged molestation is said to have occurred at 2pm when the maid was watering plants in the garden.
Her employer allegedly called her into the house, locked the door and started kissing and groping her.
The second incident allegedly took place at 3.30pm when she was taken into a room where the owner tried to molest her again.
The maid is said to have struggled and was able to break free.
Fearing further molestations, she decided to escape by climbing over the fence around 10pm but slipped and speared her left thigh on the grille.
Firemen were alerted to the situation and cut off the section of the fence to free the maid.
Police were also present at the scene and sent the girl to Sibu Hospital for treatment.
Meanwhile, district police chief ACP Stanley Jonathan Ringgit confirmed yesterday that police have arrested the maid’s employer and are investigating him under Section 354 of the Penal Code for outrage of modesty.
