New party Sedar expects to get RoS approval soon

-

KUCHING: Parti Sedar Rakyat Sarawak ( Sedar) is expecting its registration to be approved by the Registrar of Societies ( RoS) soon.

Sedar pro tem president Datuk Othman Abdillah expects the approval to be within this month on the basis of full political freedom as guaranteed under the Federal Constitution.

“Our application for registration was submitted and acknowledged by RoS almost three months ago on June 22,” he said.

“Sedar came into being upon the deafening calls for a fresh party that is not burdened with failed and selfserving political structures of the past in order to genuinely champion the Sarawak cause for better management of its resources, sustainable development of its economy, and equitable benefits for its people.”

Othman said the party has been encouraged by the growing support it has received from across Sarawak.

He said Sedar hopes all Sarawakians will have an awakening on the 55th Malaysia Day this Sunday.

“On that day, we will be reflecting even more about our diminished rights supposedly guaranteed under MA63 ( Malaysia Agreement 1963), and loss of ownership over our prized oil and gas resources and territorial seas,” he said.

“It has been a long 55 years since we Sarawakians welcomed our neighbours from across the sea as one of our own, and willingly looked up to them as our national leaders on the promise of equal progress.”
