Dakota Johnson addresses recent pregnancy rumours
LOS ANGELES: Actress Dakota Johnson has dismissed rumours that she is pregnant.
During an appearance on The Ellen DeGeneres Show, Johnson, 29 said: “The only thing I’m pregnant with is a lot of really good ideas … but not any babies.”
Johnson was addressing rumours that she is pregnant with her boyfriend, Coldplay frontman Chris Martin.
DeGeneres asked the “Bad Times at The El Royale” actress if she was pregnant by commenting on her wardrobe: “That is a mighty tight outfit for someone who’s pregnant.”
“The only thing I’m pregnant with is a lot of really good ideas … but not any babies,” said Johnson of all the pregnancy rumours.
On Monday, speculation started to generate about the actress being pregnant after TMZ released a video of blue and pink balloons flying above Martin’s home. The presumed gender-reveal party turned out to actually be Johnson’s birthday party.
“Well, it was my birthday and there happened to be balloons that were pink and blue, and so then I was pregnant,” continued Johnson. “I didn’t know that the balloons were going to be released, they were just in an arch, but I guess that actually happened — one of the ends just got let go.”
Johnson also revealed how much attention she received once the pregnancy rumours were made public, saying, “A lot of people congratulated me.”
She is currently on a press tour for her fi lm “Bad Times at The El Royale”, which is screening in cinemas. Johnson will next star in the Luca Guadagninodirected “Suspiria”, which is due for release on Nov 2.
