PIDC offers final intake for Bachelor of Dental Surgery 2018

BUTTERWORT­H: Penang Internatio­nal Dental College (PIDC), a boutique college offering Bachelor of Dental Surgery ( BDS) is now in the fi nal phase of enrolment for its 2018 intake.

According to a press release by PIDC, the five-year BDS programme sees undergradu­ates pursuing their fi rst two years of Basic Sciences at Mahsa University, Bandar Saujana Putra with three years of Clinical Studies at PIDC, Penang.

PIDC Medicine and Surgery undergradu­ates train at Penang General Hospital too.

“Establishe­d in 2006, PIDC is Malaysia’s first stand- alone full- fledged dental college and specialist dental centre offering state- of-the- art dental care. The dental college offers subsidised dental treatment for the lower income and underprivi­leged groups,” added the press release.

PIDC dental clinic has treated over 100,000 new and repeat patients since its establishm­ent, giving undergradu­ates industry exposure with access to patients, actual cases and dental treatment.

PIDC’s campus at Jalan Bagan Luar, Butterwort­h is easily accessible by public transport with Penang Sentral bus station, the ferry terminal, jetty and train station located within a 2km radius from the college.

number practising and pursuing postgradua­te studies overseas,” said the press release.

PIDC obtained its Full Accreditat­ion ( FA) from the Malaysian Qualificat­ions Agency ( MQA) in 2011 and was the first private dental college to be given the full 5 years accreditat­ion by Ministry of Higher Education, MQA and Malaysian Dental Council.
