SJK(C) Stampin to relocate to new building on Monday

-

KUCHING: SJK( C) Stampin will be relocating to a new building adjacent to the Gala City Integrated Development project coming Monday (Oct 15).

The new school has 30 classrooms compared to the existing 12 classrooms at the 58year- old school located at Jalan Tun Jugah here.

Apart from the increase in the number of classrooms, the new school is also equipped with other facilities such as a canteen, airconditioned assembly hall, science and dental laboratories.

The new school project was a result of the fruitful outcome of a land swap deal between Gala City developer San Chin-BBC JV Sdn Bhd and the Sarawak government in March last year.

In return for the land swap, San Chin-BBC JV agreed to construct the new school and fully fund the construction cost of RM17 million.

San Chin-BBC JV Sdn Bhd managing director Lee Chin Teck said during an assembly held at the old school here yesterday that the relocation will help address traffic congestion issue in the area, adding he was merely fulfi lling his social responsibility by pledging to fund the new school project.

He hoped that the new and conducive learning environment will motivate the pupils to excel in their studies.

During the assembly, pupils and parents were reminded to comply with traffic rules and instructions come Monday.

The school’s Parent-Teacher Association ( PTA) is also organising a cleaning campaign at the new school from 8am to noon tomorrow (Oct 14).
