Bintangor town to see hive of activities during Orange Fest

BINTANGOR: Orange Fest ( Pesta Limau) 2018 to be held from Oct 19- 28 is set to liven up Bintangor town with many exciting activities planned which include sports, cultural, socio- economic and entertainm­ent events.

The festival organising committee in a statement said these events would be held on a daily basis throughout the 10- day celebratio­n. One of the events expected to attract huge crowd is the ‘ Bintangor Got Talent’ with its preliminar­y rounds slated for Oct 20 and 21 while the fi nals would be on the night of Oct 24.

Other interestin­g events include the ‘ Bintangor Night Run’ ( Men and Women categories) on Oct 20 with the Men’s 5km run offering RM300, RM200 and RM100 cash prizes for the first, second and third place winners respective­ly while the 3km run for women offered RM150, RM100 and RM80 cash prizes for first, second and third place winners respective­ly.

Entry fees for both categories is RM30 per person and further informatio­n can be obtained by calling Zaini Busrah ( 0135736109) or Salleh ( 019- 8644217). On Oct 24, a ‘Glamour Make-up Competitio­n’ is scheduled to held from 2.30pm, the statement added.

A power boat race will feature categories like Pump Boat ( back engine); 18HP long boat; Pump Boat (front engine); 18HP Tunnel Boat; 3HP Speed Boat; 30HP ( 3 piston) Tunnel boat; 50HP Tunnel Boat; 30HP ( 2 piston) Tunnel Boat; SST 60 Class Tunnel Boat.

The event will start off with the heat races on Oct 27 while the fi nal races for all events on Oct 28 would include a special race for 30 HP ( 3 piston) Tunnel Boat category with participan­ts vying for Edmund Jugah Memorial Cup.

A mass aerobic exercise competitio­n would be one of the main activities on Oct 27 while the night’s programme would see a beauty contest ( Ratu Pesta Limau Bintangor 2018) themed ‘Saloma Era’.

The beauty contest is open to ladies aged 17 to 30 years old and those interested can obtain further details from Hamisah Rosedi ( 014- 2862559), Zaini busrah ( 013- 5736109), Rashid Umar ( 017- 8535578) or Zalina Abu Hassan ( 017- 8510163).

There would also be a 9-aside Datuk Ding Kuong Hiing Cup football competitio­n. The men’s category offers RM1,000 for the champion, RM700 for fi rst runner-up and RM250 each for joint third placing while the women’s category offers RM800 and RM600 respective­ly for the champion and fi rst runner-up and RM200 each for the joint third placed teams.
