K-Pop dance competitio­n set to unearth new dancing talents

MIRI: Bintang Megamall and V Dance Theatre will jointly host a K-Pop dancing competitio­n on Dec 23 at Bintang Megamall here.

The event, to kick off at 2pm, will provide an opportunit­y to the talented individual­s with good dancing skills.

According to co- organiser Victor Wong, K- Pop dancing combines the moves taken from Western pop music, Latin beats, hip-hop, R& B, reggae and electronic sound.

He adds that this genre is very popular among the youngsters nowadays.

“Due to such popularity, more and more youngsters are taking dance class to sharpen their skills. As such, this competitio­n is an ideal platform for them to showcase their talents,” he said yesterday. The competitio­n is divided into two categories – Open and Age Group (13 Years and Below). Winner of the Open category will bag RM600, while the first and second runner- up will receive RM400 and RM200, respective­ly.

For the Age Group category, the winner will take home RM300, while the first and second runnerup will be given RM200 and RM100, respective­ly.

All top K- Pop dancers will also receive trophies, while the finalists will get medals.

Registrati­on fee is only RM10 per entry, which is open to both Malaysians and non-Malaysians who are passionate about K-Pop dancing.
