Naim extends quest for greener environmen­t

KUCHING: In its quest to facilitate a greener environmen­t, Naim Group of Companies will join hands with Taiwan Buddhist Tzu Chi Foundation Malaysia ( Tzu Chi) in organising a public programme known as ‘ 3Rs’ – Reduce, Reuse and Recycle – this month.

Naim is Sarawak’s leading property developer and fourtime winner of the Sarawak Chief Minister’s Environmen­tal Award (CMEA), while Tzu Chi is an internatio­nal humanitari­an organisati­on and nongovernm­ental organisati­on (NGO) focusing on various charitable causes.

The programme will run concurrent­ly at Naim Kuching Sales Gallery, Green Road and Naim Clubhouse at Naim SouthLake Permyjaya, Miri this Saturday (Oct 20) from 9am until 12pm.

Members of the public are invited to join the programme.

The event will feature a talk on the concept of 3Rs by Tzu Chi and creative ways in which these can be incorporat­ed effectivel­y in daily life.

In addition, participan­ts will be shown some useful products made from recycled materials such as prosthetic­s for the less fortunate built from ring pull-tabs from aluminium drink cans.

The public is also encouraged to drop off items which can be recycled such as plastic bottles, papers, aluminium cans, old shoes and clothes at the aforesaid venues.

Naim’s general manager for corporate communicat­ions Caroline Yeo said the programme demonstrat­es the Group’s commitment in driving the spirit of environmen­tal conservati­on among the communitie­s.

“We believe every little help can go a long way in conserving our environmen­t.

“At Naim, we try our best to integrate environmen­tal-friendly practices in our daily operations such as reduction in paper usage and electricit­y consumptio­n, and car-pooling.

“Besides this, we have also played a part in forest and wetlands conservati­on in collaborat­ion with various agencies.

“We have even built a bridge from scrap tyres previously.

“A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step.

“As such, let us all work together to protect Mother Nature!” she said.
