Sadia Krian picks SMK Saribas for school intervention programme
BETONG: SMK Saribas in Debak is now the second school in Betong Division selected by the Krian branch of the Sarawak Dayak Iban Association ( Sadia) for its school intervention programme, which was launched earlier this month.
The first school picked for the ‘Sadia-Apan’ programme was SMK St Augustine here, said Sadia Krian chairman Andrew Paul.
According to him, the programme is meant to help students of these schools in their studies, with a focus on those in Form 6.
“Participants of this programme will be exposed to various methods including those related to psychology, neurosciences and pedagogy. These methods would help students study independently,” he told reporters yesterday.
In this regard, Andrew said Sadia Krian and the coordinators of the Sadia-Apan programme had faith in the viability of the ‘Scientifically Substantiated Art of Teaching’ to improve students’ understanding and capability in their studies.
Additionally, he expressed his pleasure in seeing the encouraging response to programme.
“The teaching methods introduced by our Sadia-Apan programme are not only beneficial for those who teach, but those who learn as well. We hope that it would help students who are taking part in the programme – pushing them to work hard in their studies,” he said.
The Sadia-Apan programme run at SMK Saribas recently involved 33 students.
