Sarawak Energy aspires to be digital company by 2025
KUCHING: Sarawak Energy aspires to be a digital company by 2025 as part of its digital roadmap, said SEB Power Sdn Bhd chief executive officer Ung Sing Kwong.
Ung disclosed the roadmap during a seminar on ‘The Four Decades of China Reform and Opening-up and Cooperation between China and Sarawak Malaysia’ at Boulevard Shopping Mall here yesterday.
He added that artificial intelligence technology will be incorporated into the production and operation of the company.
With the roadmap, Sarawak Energy aims to distribute energy resources based on big data-driven alignment of supply and demand.
The field workforce will also be equipped with mobile access to maps, data, work-management tools and real-time expertise.
Data-driven strategies include preventive and condition-based predictive outage while smart grid and smart pipes will allow automated controls to improve network resilience, safety and efficiency.
For customer service, customer interaction will be governed by analysis of customers’ journeys, segmentation and personalised communication.
According to Ung, the roadmap will take between five to seven years to be fully implemented.
“At the end of the roadmap, we want Sarawak Energy to be a data driven and smart company with high automation and consumers will be able to communicate very well with Sarawak Energy digitally,” Ung concluded.
