KUCH­ING: Sarawak En­ergy aspires to be a dig­i­tal com­pany by 2025 as part of its dig­i­tal roadmap, said SEB Power Sdn Bhd chief ex­ec­u­tive of­fi­cer Ung Sing Kwong.

Ung dis­closed the roadmap dur­ing a sem­i­nar on ‘The Four Decades of China Re­form and Open­ing-up and Co­op­er­a­tion be­tween China and Sarawak Malaysia’ at Boule­vard Shop­ping Mall here yes­ter­day.

He added that ar­ti­fi­cial in­tel­li­gence tech­nol­ogy will be in­cor­po­rated into the pro­duc­tion and op­er­a­tion of the com­pany.

With the roadmap, Sarawak En­ergy aims to dis­trib­ute en­ergy re­sources based on big data-driven align­ment of sup­ply and de­mand.

The field work­force will also be equipped with mo­bile ac­cess to maps, data, work-man­age­ment tools and real-time ex­per­tise.

Data-driven strate­gies in­clude pre­ven­tive and con­di­tion-based pre­dic­tive out­age while smart grid and smart pipes will al­low au­to­mated con­trols to im­prove net­work re­silience, safety and ef­fi­ciency.

For cus­tomer ser­vice, cus­tomer in­ter­ac­tion will be gov­erned by anal­y­sis of cus­tomers’ jour­neys, seg­men­ta­tion and per­son­alised com­mu­ni­ca­tion.

Ac­cord­ing to Ung, the roadmap will take be­tween five to seven years to be fully im­ple­mented.

“At the end of the roadmap, we want Sarawak En­ergy to be a data driven and smart com­pany with high au­to­ma­tion and con­sumers will be able to com­mu­ni­cate very well with Sarawak En­ergy dig­i­tally,” Ung con­cluded.
