Serembu Culture and Community Centre to boost tourism in Bau

-

BAU: The Serembu Cultural and Community Centre here costing RM200,000 will be a new tourism product for Bau district, said Serembu assemblyman Miro Simuh.

The project built under the Rural Transformation Programme (RTP) is expected to be completed in March next year.

“The development of the centre will also offer locals a chance to venture into and actively participate in the tourism industry thereby providing them with another economic activity,” he said when met after the handing over of the project document yesterday.

“At the same time, we are also planning to set up Mount Serembu Eco Park as one of the attractions to tap the uniqueness of the area. This approach, I believe, will make the area more attractive to local as well as international tourists,” he added.

Miro also said that such project was implemented so that more communities in the area would benefit from the tourism sector in Serembu.

He said he would continue to ensure the tourism sector in his constituency grow in tandem with current needs and trends.

“In view of this, I urge all parties to jointly preserve natural tourism products such as rivers, hills, mountains and forests located in Serembu to attract more tourists to come here,” he said.
