Mongolia’s largest traditiona­l dwelling included in Guinness world records

ULAN BATOR: Mongolia’s largest traditiona­l round-shaped dwelling, or Mongolian ger, was included in the Guinness Book of Records as the largest ger in the world, local media reported yesterday, citing ger maker Selnen company.

The constructi­on of the ger with a diameter of 28.81 metres and a maximum capacity of 500 people took four months, China’s Xinhua News Agency reported the company as saying.

The giant ger in Khatanbula­g soum in the southeaste­rn province of Dornogovi was constructe­d to show Mongolia’s nomadic lifestyle to foreign and domestic tourists. — Bernama
