Service Sarawak – Another milestone for S’wak govt

-

KUCHING: The Sarawak government will create history with the launching of Service Sarawak as part of the Sarawak Civil Service Transformation Journey.

Without disclosing the launching date, Minister in the Chief Minister’s Office ( Integrity and Ombudsman) Datuk Talip Zulpilip said Service Sarawak will be a major shift and change in the way the Sarawak government provides services at government counters.

“Service Sarawak is the concept of ‘no wrong counter’ where a person can be served at any routine transactional services of any agencies at any counter.

“The objectives are to enhance customers’ experience in dealing with the government, to reduce cost of the government in providing services to the public and to deliver an integrated Government-to- Citizen (G2C) frontline routine transactional services through multiple channels, namely digital, counter and contact centre,” he said in his ministerial windingup speech at the State Legislative Assembly (DUN) yesterday. Talip said Service Sarawak’s operation will be implemented in phases.

Phase 1 will be implemented at Urban Transformation Centre (UTC) Sarawak Kuching focusing on state-wide payment collection services for electricity and water bills and assessment bills for 26 local authorities, he said. For Phase 2 in 2019, he said Service Sarawak will be implemented at UTC Sibu and UTC Miri and some other major towns.

“It will include frontline routine transactional services from state agencies apart from payment collection services,” he said.
