SIBU: The management board and old students’ association of Wong Nai Siong Secondary School here have done much to ensure a wholesome education for the students.

“We care about students’ acaedemic performance as well as their character-building,” said board chairman Temenggong Dato Vincent Lau Lee Ming when speaking at the school’s graduation ceremony for its Junior Three and Senior Middle students yesterday.

“We’ve put in place a comprehensive system of network for our students to complement their effort in their study,” he added.

Turning to the teachers, Lau said it is vital that teachers fill themselves with a sense of responsibility for the students’ well-being.

“Have self- confidence and be optimistic,” he exhorted.

He said teachers shoulder the noble responsibility of nurturing their students into useful citizens who can later contribute to nation-building.

“Keep your spirit of serving high,” he told teachers.

Lau also commended the school for its good record of achievements in both the academic field and co- curricula activities, attributing the successes to the principal and teachers.

He said such achievements have spurred more parents to send their children to study in Wong Nai Siong School.
