Two drug suspects nabbed in raid

MIRI: Police here arrested two male suspects in a raid on an unnumbered worker’s quarters in Simpang Ngu Batu Niah around 11.30am yesterday for possession of drugs.

District police chief ACP Lim Meng Seah in a press statement said the 20-year- old local and a 40year- old Indonesian were nabbed in the living room during the operation.

“The raiding team had to knock down the house door when the suspects did not cooperate when asked to open the door.

“Upon checking the house, police found four transparen­t plastic packets containing crystallin­e substance suspected to be methamphet­amine weighing 11.70grammes,” Lim said.

Both suspects were later brought to the police station here for further questionin­g.

Police are investigat­ing the case under Section 39A(1) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952.
