Lions Club comes to aid of needy again

KAPIT: Once again, Lions Club of Kapit extended a helping hand to the needy.

This time, the club donated a wheelchair and some food items to a needy patient identified as Simon Entalang of Sungai Pelajau, Jalan Bukit Goram here.

Simon had his left leg above the knee amputated due to sepsis and severe gout arthritis.

He is now unable to work to earn a living due to the handicap.

Previously, Simon worked at a bank but after he suffered from severe illness he could not work.

He now depends on the monthly financiala­ssistancef­romtheWelf­are Department which he shares with his wife and five children.

The Lions Club of Kapit was led by its president Sng Geok Yien during the visit to Simon’s house. Among the lions calling on Simon were Dr Sia Tih Kong, Evelyn Biju, Anthony Jalin, Moonly Tiang and Stanley Ling.
