FIABCI M’sia to host prestigious property award
KUALA LUMPUR: The International Real Estate Federation ( FIABCI) Malaysia Chapter will be hosting the prestigious FIABCI Malaysia Property Award 2018 at One World Hotel, Bandar Utama, Petaling Jaya, Selangor on Nov 17.
The Malaysia Property Award is a gold standard for developers in the real estate industry and acts as a platform for developers to showcase their best creations.
The award has gained recognition and prestige as an ‘ Oscar Award’ of the industry as it gives the award winner a stature to compete with those at the international stage.
Since the first edition of FIABCI Malaysia Property Award in 1992, FIABCI Malaysia has awarded numerous honours to real estate developers and projects, making it the most coveted recognition among industry players.
According to FIABCI Malaysia secretary- general Dr Yu Kee Su, the nominee of the award will involve four phases, namely the nomination stage, physical site visits, verifications and judging.
“All qualified entries ( projects) to the award will be recognised as being the best of the best in the industry.
“They will also be automatically qualified for the FIABCI World Prix d’Excellence Awards,” said Yu during an interview with Utusan Borneo and Oriental Daily News at One World Hotel, recently.
He said the first assessment is made through a visit to the project site by a team of evaluators to assess each participant’s project.
The projects will then be presented to a FIABCI committee who will eliminate those who have not met the criteria or fail to meet the required standards.
“After that, the project will be judged by a panel of experts to determine the technical aspects of the project,” he added.
For this year, the panel of local and international jury involves those from Taiwan, Indonesia and Singapore to ensure further transparency and fairness in the judging process.
Also speaking was FIABCI Malaysia chapter president Michael Geh Thuan Peng, who said the award will also act as a benchmark among the local developers to ‘step-up’ their game and be on par to other projects at the international stage.
“Therefore, we are constantly working to improve the quality of the award, such as reviewing the judging criteria and award categories from time- to- time to ensure that the award will be uptodate with the industry’s latest trends,” he said.
On another note, Geh said the Property Man Award and the CEO Award will be based on the commitments and merits shown by the award participants in the property industry.
“The judging for these two categories will take at least three months,” he added.
FIABCI Malaysia Chapter was established in 1975 and plays an important role in linking industry practitioners at the local and international stage.
The FIABCI 2019 World Prix d’Excellence Award will be held in Moscow, Russia sometime in May next year.
