‘New parties accepted into GPS if three of coalition partners agree’

-

SIBU: Gabungan Parti Sarawak ( GPS) will consider accepting new parties into the coalition if three out of its four component parties give the green light.

Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Abang Openg disclosed this when asked for his comment on the approval of GPS’ registration. He said this policy is unlike the one practised by Barisan Nasional ( BN), whereby new parties are only allowed to join the coalition through consensus of al l component parties.

“On joining the coalition (GPS), we have an agreement – if 3/4 agree to accept the new party, we will consider accepting it. In BN, it must be 100 per cent,” he said.

He was speaking to reporters af ter the appreciat ion and graduation ceremony of SK Abang Ali. When asked further whether United People’s Party ( UPP) would be accepted into the new coalition, he refused to give any comment. “Wait fi rst…certificate fi rst,” he said.

On the logo, Abang Johari said he was still waiting for the details.
