Swinburne Sarawak hosts 36 delegates of working partners in national conference
KUCHING: Swinburne University of Technology Sarawak Campus hosted 36 representatives of its working partners during the ‘Swinburne University National Conference 2018’ here recently.
These delegates represented the university’s partners – namely Academic Consultant Services, AUG Global Network, CT Academic Services, Distinctive Education Advisor Sdn Bhd, E & M Education Counselling Centre Sdn Bhd, Eduquest Education Services Sdn Bhd, Global Educational Services, JM Education Counselling Centre Sdn Bhd, L& P Consultant Services, Market Management Services Sdn Bhd, RJ Education Services, SECEducare Sdn Bhd, Smart Education Consultant, Uni Enrol Sdn Bhd and Xceleration Education Group Sdn Bhd – and they came from all across the country.
The conference served as an opportunity for them to learn more about Swinburne Sarawak including its courses, faculties, facilities and services, as well as to get acquainted with the recruitment staff and academic of the campus.
Aimed at strengthening ongoing working partnerships between all parties, the conference also showcased Kuching as the preferred study destination for prospective students who are keen to pursue Australian education at an affordable cost.
On hand to welcome the delegates were Swinburne Sarawak deputy vice- chancellor and chief executive officer Prof John Wilson, and its marketing and student recruitment director Jagdish Singh.
During the three-day conference, the delegates underwent a briefing on the students’ admission process, as well as attended a presentation by Swinburne Sarawak’s Faculty of Business, Design and Arts; and Faculty of Engineering, Computing and Science, where they gained insights into the faculty offerings.
Apart from that, they also took part in an interactive campus tour and a visit to TEGAS Digital Innovation Hub, where they also had the chance to view the design showcase there.
On the final day, the delegates participated in the ‘Amazing Meow Hunt’ – an activity that was based on the popular American reality series ‘The Amazing Race’.
Later that evening, they were treated to a ‘Partners Conference Appreciation Dinner’ at Hilton Hotel Kuching in recognition of their hard work and support towards the university throughout the years.
Swinburne is a reputable Australian university with campuses in Melbourne and Kuching, providing viable choices for students to earn an international degree no matter which campus they choose. The Sarawak campus has courses at foundation, undergraduate and postgraduate levels in business, design, engineering, computer and science fields.
All courses taught are identical to those at the Melbourne campus. As a result, graduates at the Sarawak campus are awarded the same Australian qualification, which allows for broader recognition and better employment opportunities around the world.
Swinburne Sarawak will be holding its ‘Open Day’ this Dec 15 at its campus, located at Jalan Simpang Tiga here. The event will run from 10am to 5pm.
All are welcome to attend the event, particularly SPM, STPM and UEC school-leavers who are looking to pursue Australian tertiary education locally.
Application is now open for enrolment into next year’s intakes at Swinburne Sarawak. Classes commence on Jan 7 next year (for ‘Summer Term’, foundation and degree programmes), March 4 (degree and post- graduate programmes) and April 8 (foundation programmes).
