Good Samaritans raise funds to help Trinity Hope

-

KUCHING: A group of Good Samaritans from Kuching have raised funds to assist Trinity Hope – a centre for individuals with special needs, located at Jalan Batu Kawa here.

Their representative, volunteer social worker Lim Chee Haw, said it was their first time helping Trinity Hope.

He said according to Trinity Hope principal Jimmy Leong, 15 individuals with special needs – aged between four and 20 – are undergoing therapy there.

“He ( Leong) is happy that these Good Samaritans are donating food items such as rice, cooking oil and sugar, to help the centre reduce its expenditure.

“On our part, the Good Samaritans believe in helping deserving people – irrespective of race and creed,” said Lim, a retired Marine Police personnel who is now devoted to doing charity work.

He thanked a Mr Law and family from Foochow Road No 2, Fook Lai Construction at Batu Kawa New Township, a Mr Hii and Mr Chia from Jalan Matang, as well as others for their assistance in this latest charity act.

On a related matter, Lim said he could be contacted via 082-248153 / 016- 8070388 to assist poor families who require coffins for the funeral of a departed family member.

According to him, the cash donations from the Good Samaritans are ‘parked’ at a coffin shop here to be used whenever a genuine request is received.

So far, such assistance has been rendered to families at Kampung Sadir in Puncak Borneo, Sungai Apong here, Kampung Murud Plaman near Serian, Kampung Sinjog near Siburan, Kampung Sabang in Simunjan, Kampung Tanah Merah at Mile 27 of Kuching- Serian Road, and Kampung Mantung Marau in Serian.

Lim also reminded the public that he could be reached only via his fixed and mobile phone lines, as he does not have any social media account.
