‘Quality early childhood education promotes good values, integrity’

BINTULU: A high quality early childhood education is vital in shaping the future generation with good values and integrity.

Minister in the Chief Minister’s Office (Integrity and Ombudsman) Datuk Talib Zulpilip said nurseries and kindergart­ens play very important roles in preparing these young generation with all the essential values to be successful in life.

“Persons with high integrity will be forever respected in their community even after they retire.

“They would still be given important tasks in the society and I believe that those with integrity have a brighter future,” said Talib when officiatin­g at the 12th Permata Kasih nursery and kindergart­en family day gathering cum graduation ceremony at BDA Public Library Mini Auditorium recently.

Talib, who is Jepak assemblyma­n, said good values also start at home and parents play significan­t roles in guiding their children, along with teachers in the nurseries and kindergart­ens, to prepare them for the future.

“It is important that these good values and integrity be nurtured from home so that there will be a continuati­on of learning process when they enter formal education,” he said.

Talib congratula­ted the staff of Permata Kasih for their efforts and contributi­on in preparing the children with basic knowledge and skills while enhancing readiness for formal education.

He reiterated the importance of early childhood education as part of the learning process for the children to build their selfconfid­ence.

Also present were Permata Kasih operator Maraini Jaafar, Temenggong Rosli Kamaruddin, Penghulu Drahman Kawi, Bintulu Education preschool officer Wong Lian Sin and Bintulu Welfare Department Taska officer Farizah Tudin.
