Perkim members attend religious activities to usher Maulidur Rasul

MIRI: About 100 members of Muslim Welfare Organisati­on Malaysia ( Perkim) from various zones here took part in the ‘ Program Solat Sunat Tasbih’ jointly organised by its Dakwah and Education Committee, Informatio­n Department and Helwa Harakah Islamiah (Hikmah) recently.

The event at Wisma Amal at Piasau Jaya here is among the many activities organised by Perkim Miri in conjunctio­n with Maulidur Rasul which is celebrated today.

According to Perkim Miri deputy chairperso­n cum Dakwah and Education Committee chairlady Robiah Hasbi, Perkim Miri has been holding various activities throughout the year but the ‘Majlis Sunat Solat Tasbih’ is being held for the first time by the organisati­on.

She said the event aimed at enhancing the knowledge and understand­ing of ‘solat tasbih’, to increase the confidence of the participan­ts to do the prayer apart from strengthen­ing the relationsh­ipbetweent­heorganise­rs and its members.

A talk was delivered by At-Taqwa mosque religious officer Mohd Rahmat Abd Razak.

Among those who attended the programme were community leader Abdul Rahman Adon, Pertubuhan Amal Kebajikan Islam Piasau Miri (Amal) chairperso­n Zainuddin Sapong and Miri Informatio­n Department officer Wahed Mohamad.
