Bersatu’s expansion to S’wak – A wakeup call for GPS
MIRI: Bersatu’s expansion to Sarawak is a wake- up call for Gabungan Parti Sarawak ( GPS) to focus on development of rural areas if the state coalition is to win in the next election.
Former PBB Supreme Council member Yusof Abusamah said the Bumiputera community must be involved in and benefit from the development including basic infrastructures, clean water, electricity and roads.
“All these basic amenities must be done in a quantum leap and that no time is wasted over the next two years,” Yusof said to The Borneo Post yesterday.
He was commenting on Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia ( Bersatu) spreading its wings to Sarawak with Tun Dr Mahathir claiming Pakatan Harapan will win Sarawak from GPS in the next state election.
According to Yusof, GPS must erase all forms of corruption and abuse of powers from top down to the grassroots leaders towards ensuring that everybody benefit from development progress.
“These have to be done urgently to ensure the people keep their faith in the present state government,” he emphasised. — AFP
