MACC urged to investigat­e Johor Bumiputera trust fund

JOHOR BAHRU: The Malaysian Anti- Corruption Commission ( MACC) has been urged to investigat­e the alleged misappropr­iation of funds from the Johor Tabung Akaun Amanah Sumbangan Kuota Bumiputera ( Bumiputera quota contributi­on payment trust fund).

Senggarang state assemblyma­n Khairuddin Abdul Rahim said a report was lodged with the MACC yesterday on the matter as an expenditur­e report involving hundreds of thousands of ringgit by a tourism agency on a working visit to London was found to be doubtful However, no date was given on when the visit was made.

“In an explanatio­n on the expenditur­e given in an oral reply at the Johor State Assembly sitting yesterday (Sunday), there were suspicious expenditur­e using money from the fund, on a working visit to London by a tourism agency,” he told reporters when met outside the state MACC office here yesterday.

Also present were Permas state assemblyma­n Datuk Seri Che Zakaria Mohd Salleh and Pulai Sebatang state assemblyma­n Taqiuddin Cheman. — Bernama
