Submit report of completed projects, urges assemblyman
MIRI: Mulu assemblyman Datuk Gerawat Gala urges community leaders as well as chairmen of village security and development committees (JKKK) and associations to submit reports of projects carried out using government allocations.
He said the reports are important for monitoring and ensuring that funds approved for the projects are used accordingly.
“If any recipient fails to commence or complete past or existing projects, after they received MRP funds; their future and further requests for MRP may not be considered.
“Recipients must also not keep the funds in their respective organisation accounts or use the grants for other purposes,” the State Legislative Assembly deputy speaker said in his address during a Minor Rural Project ( MRP) presentation held at Mulu Service Centre here yesterday.
At the event, seventeen JKKKs, one parent-teacher association, three houses of worship, four women bureaus, as well as four non-governmental organisations in the Mulu constituency received MRP grants totalling RM519,000 from the assemblyman.
