KUCHING: Shoppers were treated to fantastic performances during the tHe Spring Shopping Mall Christmas tree lighting ceremony on Wednesday.

There were dance and ballet performances before the official lighting ceremony by Minister of Local Government and Housing Datuk Dr Sim Kui Hian, the mall’s general manager Datin Christine Ling, Hope Place Kuching founder Kelvin Wan and other guests.

This Christmas season, tHe Spring Shopping Mall together with The Northbank by Ibraco Berhad is bringing shoppers the ‘Garden of Dreams’ a festive wonderland filled with mythical beings of the sky, land and sea that can be seen frolicking together in the lush greens along the concourse area.

“Christmas is a time of giving and sharing. Each year, we work with a charitable body to share this love. With the theme ‘Garden of Dreams’, Hope Place was our first choice,” said Ling.

She said Hope Place Kuching is a non-governmental organisation dedicated to alleviating the plight of the poor and deprived individuals in Kuching.

“We wanted to create a dream Christmas for the families registered with Hope Place. With this ‘ To You With Love’ CSR campaign, we aim to fulfill their gift request. Gift wrapping and delivery will be taken care of by The Spring. Shoppers who buy the gift from any tenants in the mail will be rewarded with a set of limited- edition greeting cards from the Spring.”

Meanwhile, Dr Sim said that Christmas is a season of giving and also sharing the joy with everyone.

“Christmas is when people give gifts and opening them with family. But the best gift is spending time with family which is precious,” he said.

He also thanked the mall for giving a wonderful Christmas experience to shoppers as they do not need to travel far for it.
