KUCHING: The ‘ Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVet) Symposium 2019’, to be held at the Pullman Hotel here from Feb 19 to 21 next year, will be an ideal platform to facilitate the development of talents for digital economy.

It is co- organised by the Ministry of Education, Science and Technological Research and Sarawak Skills Development Centre ( PPKS), and will be declared open by Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Openg

Commenting on the symposium, PPKS executive director Hallman Sabri said the symposium would feature an impressive line-up of speakers from Malaysia and overseas.

He also said an estimated 500 delegates are expected to attend this symposium.

“Indeed, this will be an ideal platform for stakeholders, comprising the government, industry and academia to explore ways to develop future-ready talent for the digital economy.

“With Industry 4.0 and the digital economy at our doorstep, there is an urgent need to engage in lively discourse and at the same time, share best practices in areas such as the role of TVet in strategic human capital development, and how TVet must evolve in its noble endeavour to produce future-ready graduates.

“The symposium will also enable stakeholders to receive updates on government policies, the vibrant transformation of TVet, and how Industry 4.0 and the digital economy open new doors of opportunity for the industry sectors,” he said yesterday.

The conference fee of RM 1,2000 per delegate is Human Resources Development Fund ( HRDF) - claimable.

For group registration (minimum of five delegates per group), the conference fee is RM1,000 per delegate.
