Why no federal allocation even for grass cutting services, Tnay asks Chong

KUCHING: Pakatan Harapan ( PH) state chairman Chong Chieng Jen is asked to explain why there is no allocation from the federal government even for grass cutting services in Sarawak.

Sarawak United People’s Party ( SUPP) Batu Kitang secretary Tnay Li Ping in a press statement yesterday said she was puzzled as to why there was shortage of fund from the federal government even for basic services like grass cutting.

She said although Sarawak has 12 PH members of Parliament ( MPs) after the 14th general election last May, the fund allocated to Sarawak is really insufficient that even the grass cutting services for federal or protocol roads were ignored.

Chong is Stampin MP and Kota Sentosa state assemblyman.

Tnay who is Padawan Municipal Council ( MPP) councillor added:

“Chong who is the federal deputy minister for domestic trade and consumer affairs should explain to Sarawakians the situation and whether he is fighting for the interest of Sarawakians in Parliament.

“If this continues, I think the federal government should not collect taxes from Sarawak as they ( the former) did not allocate adequate funding to the state.”

She added all this while, the maintenance of the federal and protocol roads were under the responsibility of the federal government and not the state government.

Tnay also claimed that the PH-led federal government kept on implementing unfair policies as far as Sarawak is concerned and asked Chong what he has done for Sarawakians after he was appointed deputy minister.
