‘Act of Aggression’ to improve standard operating procedures
KUCHING: Feedback from the four- day ‘Act of Aggression’ exercise will be used to gauge the level of preparedness of agencies involved, as well as be a platform to improve existing standard operating procedures (SOP).
Sarawak deputy police commissioner Datuk Pahlawan Dzuraidi Ibrahim said this yesterday following the completion of the exercise mainly at the Kuching International Airport ( KIA).
“The feedback and input received by the agencies will be used to improve the SOP, especially in handling crisis response at airports,” he said.
Dzuraidi said government departments and private agencies will continue to work with Malaysia Airports Holdings Berhad ( MAHB) to ensure the safety of the nation’s aviation industry.
The exercise dubbed ‘ Ex- Rampas KIA 2018’ involved seminars, training simulations, and a post-mortem session.
“This exercise involved a total of 42 agencies and 800 participants, who would be on the frontline in a crisis,” added Dzuraidi.
Agencies involved in the exercise were the police, MAHB, and the Fire and Rescue Department ( Bomba).
Meanwhile, Dzuraidi told reporters that the police and Bomba are continuing investigations on the explosion at CityOne Megamall on Tuesday.
“The forensics team from Bomba is at the site and they will reveal their findings in due time,” he added.
