-

KUALA LUMPUR: The Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) have arrested another four people in connection with the riots at the Sri Maha Mariamman Temple in Subang Jaya last Nov 26, bringing the total number of suspects in the case to 106 people as at 8am yesterday.

Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Mohamad Fuzi Harun said apart from that, seven of the 66 individuals wanted by the police in connection with the case had surrendered and given their statements to facilitate investigation.

Asked whether the police had recorded statement from firefighter Muhammad Adib Mohd Kassim, 24, who was severely injured when attacked during the riot, Mohamad Fuzi said the police had yet to do so as the firefighter had not recovered fully from the injuries.

“InsyaAllah, we will record his statement when he has recovered,” he told a media conference after a mass circumcision involving 74 children which was organised by PDRM at the Bukit Aman Mosque here yesterday.

Mohamad Fuzi said a task force, led by Bukit Aman Criminal Investigation Department (CID) director Datuk Seri Wan Ahmad Najmuddin Mohd had been set up to investigate the attack on Muhammad Adib.

The investigation was being jointly carried out by the Bukit Aman and Selangor CID, he added. — Bernama
