KUCHING: Green Heights Mall is running a charity food drive together with charity food truck Bon Appetit until Dec 31.

Green Heights Mall centre manager Sereni Linggi called on the public to donate dry groceries and basic necessities, which will be distributed by Bon Appetit from the first week of January.

“These items will be distributed to the hardcore poor living within the Kuching city area.

“We are glad that we can do something to help these people,” she said during the official launching yesterday.

She said the donated items can be placed in a designated collection basket at the main entrance of the mall.

Items needed for the drive are Milo, sugar, salt, instant oatmeal, biscuits, bihun, Lee Fah Mee instant noodles, cereal (Koko Crunch), canned food (chicken curry, sardines, mushrooms, baked beans), cooking oil (3kg), milk powder for children six to 12 months, milk powder for children one to four years old, baby bath, baby powder, hair shampoo, towels, school bags, detergent, dishwashing liquid, as well as diapers sizes L and XL.

“Just one week into the drive, members of the public are showing great support for the drive by filling up our designated collection baskets.

“We are just grateful and glad at the same time that our intention of helping the poor gets all the support that we need,” Sereni said.

During the launch, members of the public were treated to a Christmas carol sing-a-long as part of the festivities for the launch.
