-

SIBU: Daro does not face flood problems except during king tide according to the area’s assemblyman Safiee Ahmad.

He said such tide-related flooding only lasts for a few hours.

“As usual, every monsoon season at district level, we will activate the operations room under the district level disaster management committee led by the District Office,” he said when contacted yesterday.

“We have identified a few kampungs, which used to be affected by king tide such as Kampung Pangtray and Kampung Tengah.”

According to the iHydro website, the hydrological station at Nanga Lemai B showed the water level had breached the alert level as at 9am yesterday.

Residents in the area are advised to be on the alert at all times.
