Flood­ing in Daro king tide re­lated — Rep

SIBU: Daro does not face flood prob­lems ex­cept dur­ing king tide ac­cord­ing to the area’s assem­bly­man Safiee Ah­mad.

He said such tide-re­lated flood­ing only lasts for a few hours.

“As usual, ev­ery mon­soon sea­son at district level, we will ac­ti­vate the op­er­a­tions room un­der the district level dis­as­ter man­age­ment com­mit­tee led by the District Of­fice,” he said when con­tacted yes­ter­day.

“We have iden­ti­fied a few kam­pungs, which used to be af­fected by king tide such as Kam­pung Pang­tray and Kam­pung Ten­gah.”

Ac­cord­ing to the iHy­dro web­site, the hy­dro­log­i­cal sta­tion at Nanga Le­mai B showed the wa­ter level had breached the alert level as at 9am yes­ter­day.

Res­i­dents in the area are ad­vised to be on the alert at all times.
