AFF Suzuki Cup: 40,000 tickets sold online

KUALA LUMPUR: The heart palpitatio­ns over the 2018 AFF Suzuki Cup first leg final between Malaysia and Vietnam at the National Stadium, Bukit Jalil on Dec 11 are increasing­ly felt when 40,000 tickets sold online were all taken up.

Football Associatio­n of Malaysia (FAM) in a statement said that 30,000 tickets had been purchased via the website www. tickethotl­ine.com.my on Friday while the balance of 10,000 tickets were all snatched up yesterday.

FAM announced that 40,000 physical tickets would be sold on Sunday at several locations.

Football fans can buy the tickets at the Gate A & Gate E ticket counters at the National Stadium, Bukit Jalil from 10am until 5pm (or until the tickets are sold out) with each person eligible to buy a maximum of five tickets.

FAM explained that fans could buy match tickets at several selected branches of Al-Ikhsan Sports and they could refer to the Al-Ikhsan Sports Facebook for further details.

The parent body also announced that local fans who had travelled to Bangkok for the semifinal game against Thailand on Dec 5 can buy the tickets for the home match at a special counter at the FAM Futsal Arena, Wisma FAM, Kelana Jaya.

The special counter will open on Sunday from 10am to 5pm, according to FAM.

They must bring along their MyKad and the ticket stub of the match in Bangkok or any proof of purchase of the tickets, such as receipts.

“If it is lost, please bring your Malaysian passports as proof of entering and leaving Thailand for the match,’’ FAM said, adding that the seats are limited to two open air seat tickets at RM40 each.

Malaysia will travel to Hanoi for the second leg match of the biennial tournament on Dec 15. — Bernama
