Pineapple farmer files report on possible scam

-

MIRI: A 39-year- old pineapple farmer lodged a police report on Monday after fearing he and two others were scammed of RM12,000.

The victim claimed that in April 2015, he and two others invested the money in a company through a man.

After doing so, they tried to locate the man for many years and later found out the man had apparently gone into hiding.

However, the farmer only realised they could have been victims of a scam when they received a letter from the Companies Commission of Malaysia, which notified them of a compound for offences under the Companies Act 2016.

The farmer claimed that they had no idea they possessed shares in the company, nor did they know where their investments had gone.
