-

SIBU: The Kanowit branch of Parti Keadilan Rakyat ( PKR) has not received any reply from the Malaysian Anti- Corruption Commission ( MACC) regarding the Nanga Ngungun- Nanga Jagau Road case.

PKR Kanowit chairman George Chen and his deputy Thomas Laja lodged a report on the matter at MACC Sibu office on June 22 this year.

According to Thomas, former prime minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak had announced the project twice – the first was made during his visit to Nanga Tada in Kanowit in February 2010 where he announced a RM8- million allocation for the construction of Nanga Ngungun-Nanga Jagau Road.

“He ( Najib) approved another RM50 million allocation for the project when he visited Nanga Ngungun in March 2016.

“But until today, not even an inch of the proposed 22km road has been built,” he told reporters at a press conference here yesterday, where Chen and Democratic Action Party ( DAP) Sarawak deputy chairman David Wong were also present.

Adding on, Thomas said the people wanted to know where the money had gone to.

In this regard, he called the MACC to announce its finding on the case to the public soon.
