SGH Blood Bank on donation drive

KUCHING: The Sarawak General Hospital ( SGH) Blood Bank is now appealing to blood donors to help in replenishing blood supply.

The Blood Bank hopes to get more Type A and AB blood this time around as they are now in low supply because of the sudden surge of cases of patients needing such blood types and also due to low stock of Type A and AB at other hospitals outside Kuching, the SGH said through a press statement.

The SGH Blood Bank will be holding a blood donation campaign at Majma Mall on Dec 12 from 10am until 3pm.

On Dec 15, the campaign will be held at Mydin Petra Jaya in collaboration with NGO JOSIPA from 10am to 3pm and at Samarahan Medical Clinic ( 9am to 2pm).

Another blood donation drive will be held on Dec 16 at St Ann’s (Old) Church from 9am until 2pm and at Boulevard shopping mall ( 9am to 2.30pm) in collaboration with Persekutuan Belia Cina ( FOCY).

The bank welcomes support from private companies and government agencies as well as NGOs.
