Peryatim students attend Toastmasters leadership summit

SIBU: Some twenty children from Lembaga Kebajikan Anak-Anak Yatim ( Peryatim) Sibu attended Peryatim-Toastmasters ‘ See Something’ leadership summit from Nov 30 to Dec 2 at Premier Hotel here.

The event which was organised for the first time by Sibu Toastmasters Club aimed to awaken the leadership capabilities of the children despite their harsh life condition.

Organising chairperson Chin Jee Jee said the 20 children are Form One to Six students.

Peryatim Sibu branch manager Najilanisa Suhaili approached the club for the summit in the hope of instilling leadership skills among the children.

The session conducted in English covered various topics including ‘ Discovering and Embracing Leadership Strength’, ‘ Prepping up for Scholarship, University and Working Interviews’.

Speakers were Toastmasters Division S director and trainer Hani Nur Zaihanirah, Chin and Zaiton Abdul Kadir.
