Thunderstorm victims receive aid from Saratok MP
SARATOK: Twelve victims of a thunderstorm that hit their longhouse last Thursday received financial aid totalling RM10,800 from local MP Ali Biju at the PKR Saratok Service centre here yesterday.
Ali who is also Krian assemblyman was represented by his close aide Glen during the cheque presentation ceremony.
According to Glen, the thunderstorm had ripped off the roof of the six- door longhouse Rumah Bama at Nanga Risau, Awik.
Officers from several government agencies like Saratok District Office, Fire and Rescue Department and State Welfare Department had subsequently visited the longhouse and provided assistance, he said.
