Sheda delegation meets Abang Johari on developer-related issues

KUCHING: The newly- elected council members and advisors of Sarawak Housing and Real Estate Developers’ Associatio­n ( Sheda) recently paid a courtesy call on Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Openg.

The purpose of the meeting was to raise several pertinent issues affecting developers in Sarawak and to seek feedback from Abang Johari, according to a Sheda statement yesterday.

“For the benefit of our members, the proposals raised during the visit included Sri Pertiwi Affordable Housing Scheme, Sarawak My Second Home and the shortage of technical skilled workers.

“The associatio­n is greatly encouraged by Abang Johari’s affirmatio­n and commitment to relax some technical issues on the Sri Pertiwi guidelines, and to simplify and improve the Sarawak My Second Home processes and procedures in order to attract more foreign investment and turbo-charge Sarawak’s economic performanc­e to achieve a high income and developed nation,” said the statement.

It added that Sheda is looking forward to the positive changes and will continue to liaise and engage with the various ministries to ensure that its members’ grievances are addressed accordingl­y.

Also present during the courtesy call was Minister of Local Government and Housing Datuk Dr Sim Kui Hian.
