Limkokwing helps to build vital network linking Malaysia with other nations

KUCHING: As the new Malaysia gears up to face a challengin­g future, stalwart citizens such as Tan Sri Dato’ Sri Paduka Limkokwing providethe­necessary bridge for the country to rebuild and reposition itself within the global economy.

A press release said his involvemen­t in the developmen­t of human capital, and therefore, the economic progress of many countries has already built the vital network for Malaysia to connect its new leadership to the global community, especially of the developing world.

He set up campuses in countries no one thought of being involved in like Cambodia, Botswana, Lesotho, Eswatini (formerly Swaziland) and Sierra Leone among others.

The one in the heart of London awoke the British to the paradigm shift taking place in education.

Unesco and the World Bank began to take an interest in Limkokwing’s revolution­ary views on education.

Views that energised the government­s in Africa and Asia and with his involvemen­t, their education systems began moving industry into new directions in these countries.

More developing country government­s are seeking Limkokwing University’s collaborat­ion to build their human capital with the right mix of skills.

Next year will see the university expanding into Namibia, Uganda, Nigeria and Rwanda. In the meantime negotiatio­ns have begun with Pakistan to set up a campus in Islamabad following Limkokwing’s meeting with Prime Minister H.E. Imran Khan recently in Kuala Lumpur.

Limkokwing has been providing vital creative human capital for industry from the time he establishe­d his university in 1991.Thousands of Limkokwing graduates today hold key positions in industries.

Most globally honoured Malaysian for innovation in education

In recognitio­n of his pioneering spirit and commitment to human advancemen­t, Limkokwing has been conferred numerous awards for his exemplary leadership in global education.

The awards have been many, the latest being Legend in Innovation given by the US-based World Confederat­ion of Businesses.

Other notable awards include Commonweal­th Champion awarded by the Commonweal­th of Nations and The Salver of Honour Award by the United Nations.

He continues to play a very active role in TVET and has been appointed the first Internatio­nal President of TVET UK by the TVET UK Council.

The Internatio­nal Vocational Education and Training Associatio­n ( IVETA), UK recognised his initiative­s with an award for Global TVET Leadership for Economic Transforma­tion.

Academic & Skills Internatio­nal Qualificat­ions (ASIQUAL) of UK awarded him Global Leadership for TVET Excellence while the Accreditat­ion Service for Internatio­nal Schools, Colleges and Universiti­es honoured him with the Outstandin­g Leadership in Internatio­nal TVET Education award.
