DAP Sarawak to work with media in community services
MIRI: DAP Sarawak will continue to work closely with the mainstream media in its effort to effectively serve the people and bring progress to the country.
Pujut assemblyman Dr Ting Tiong Choon said so far, the cooperation between DAP and the local media had been very cordial and satisfactory.
“Activities like this – friendly bowling games between the journalists and our ( DAP) members – are among the ways we can work together.
“It is a good platform to learn the game and at the same time, (for us to) socialise and foster closer rapport and understanding,” he said prior to the prize presentation ceremony for the Northern Sarawak Journalists Association ( NSJA) - DAP Miri friendly bowling tournament here on Thursday night.
The event gathered some 50 members of NSJA and DAP Miri, including Dr Ting himself, Pelawan assemblyman David Wong and NSJA president Andy Jong.
They jointly presented prizes to the top bowlers and also those for the lucky draw.
The champion was Team 3 comprising Jong, Peter Lee, Wong Siew Moi and Wong King Min. Siew Moi and King Min were also adjudged as the ‘ Best Female and Male Bowlers’, respectively.
The top three individual winners each received trophy, while all the bowlers received medals, in addition to cash.
