PKR confirms Baru remains Sarawak chairman

KUCHING: Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) has officially announced that Minister of Works, Baru Bian, has been reelected as its Sarawak chairman, a post he held since 2009.

This was announced by Lembah Pantai MP Fahmi Fadzil on behalf of PKR president Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim last night.

The announcement came as no surprise as Baru was reported to have garnered the votes of 21 branches out of the 27 branches which cast their votes on Friday giving him an unassailable lead over his challenger believed to be Miri MP Dr Michael Teo who had earlier declared he would run for the post as only two branches did not attend the meeting yesterday.

Fahni also announced that Fuziah Salleh is the chairman of PKR Pahang branch.
