Offshore worker escapes beating by unidentified men

MIRI: An offshore worker almost got beaten by a group of men after he was allegedly threatened at Marina Commercial Centre here early Friday morning.

According to a source, the victim in his 20s was initially approached by an unidentified man around 1.40am who began to threaten him.

“The suspect, who was with several other friends, then tried to hit the victim. The victim was later rescued by his friend who pulled him away from the group of men,” said the source.

The victim subsequently lodged a report at a nearby police station.
