“We are one big family in our association and thus we should all help one another in every aspect and together help the association reach greater heights,” he said during the association’s annual general meeting (AGM) held at Sibu Chinese Chamber of Commerce and Industry premises here yesterday.

“We should also continue to pass down the unity to our younger generation so that they can strengthen it further,” he added.

Tiu also called on the association’s younger members to be actively involved in the association’s activities to make the association more interesting so that everyone will be able to contribute their ideas for the betterment of the members and association.

“We also need a building that has other facilities and assets to serve members better,” he said.

The AGM was held to elect the association’s new committee for the next two years.

“We will hold our Chinese New Year gathering on Feb 17. It is to be headed by Tiew Su Cheng and Tiau Kiu Ung. During the gathering, we will also give awards to the elders as well as scholarships to the children of members,” Tiu said.

“We hope that all members would make time to attend and celebrate this festive gathering as one big family,” he added.
