-

THE Malaysian rubber market is expected to see quiet trading amid lack of fresh leads, with most traders tracking closely the movement of regional rubber futures markets, a dealer said.

He said market operators were expected to react positively in the near term to the announcement by the International Tripartite Rubber Council (ITRC).

“As an immediate effort to improve the natural rubber (NR) market situation, which would benefit the smallholders, officials from the three member countries will meet before the end of this year to finalise measures to be implemented by the ITRC beginning early 2019,” he told Bernama.

For the week just- ended, rubber prices were traded mixed.
