-

KUCHING: Re- elected Parti Keadilan Rakyat ( PKR) Sarawak chairman Baru Bian is calling on PKR leaders in Sarawak to close ranks to enable the party to take on Gabungan Parti Sarawak in the next state election.

He also wants members in Sarawak to regroup in the aftermath of the party’s election.

“Only by forging together as one united force and combining our energies in a focused strategy, would we be able to take on the opposition government and capture Sarawak in the upcoming state election which can be held any time soon,” he said in a press statement yesterday.

The Works Minister also thanked and offered his appreciation to branch chiefs who supported him to lead PKR Sarawak for another term.

It is said that the votes of 22 out of the 29 PKR branches in Sarawak were in favour of Baru as PKR Sarawak chairman, a post he has held since 2009.

“Their loyalty all these years and our struggle together to fight for all Sarawakians is testament to their commitment for justice in this land.

“The party president ( Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim) has affirmed that vote of confidence and I wish to record my deep appreciation to Datuk Seri YB President (Anwar) for his support too.

“We pledge to continue to further strengthen Keadilan (PKR) in Sarawak. This is possible only when we can work together towards common goals. These goals are a far better Sarawak in particular and a stronger Malaysia in general through PH ( Pakatan Harapan) government,” he said.

The Selangau MP and Ba Kelalan assemblyman also reiterated his desire to work together with all elected branch chiefs, both new and old ones.

“Inclusivity is the key to unity and victory,” he said.
