Jironi, Jacyntha emerge champions of Christmas Golf Course Run 2018
MIRI: The Christmas Golf Course Run 2018 held yesterday saw Mohd Jironi Riduan and Jacyntha Thian emerge champions of the Men and Women’s Open categories, respectively.
The charity event at Eastwood Valley Golf and Country Club was organised by the youth section of Miri Chinese Association. Proceeds from the run would be channelled to MRC Miri Dialysis Centre and Deaf Northern Region Association.
Cleveron Ronan Ho and Azamaain Gember took second and third place, respectively, in the Men’s Open category; while Voon Chin Lee and Lee Siew Shien were the runners-up in the Women’s Open category.
In Men’s Veteran category, the champion was Liew Joon Kien, followed by Hii Lik Nguong and Chin Ming Foo as the respective fi rst and second runner-up.
In the Women’s Veteran category, Cecilia Maksimon won, while Qiu Ying came second, and Sim Swee Ha, third.
For the ‘Family- Kid Boys’ category, the winning partners were Robin Wan Matthew and Celestial Reyes Ho, while the runners-up were the pair of Yew Kok Wing and Julizu Ivan Tabib Yew, and the duo of Joseph Sia and Ronan Ho.
In the ‘Family- Kid Girls’ category, Tang Swee Ming and Shanice Tang Yu Chen were the winners, with Chia Siang Hui-Tone Lau Ngin Ting and Daniel KongNatalie Kong taking respective second and third place.
Assistant Minister of Tourism, Arts and Culture Datuk Lee Kim Shin,whoisSenadinassemblyman, flagged of the runs.
In his address earlier, he lauded the youth section of Miri Chinese Association on doing their bit for charity and as such, he encouraged others to follow their footsteps.
At the function, Lee also pledged a RM5,000 allocation for the organiser.
Also present at the flag- off were Piasau assemblyman Dato Sebastian Ting, Miri Chinese Association advisor Dato Sri Law Kiu Kiong, Kapitan Ngieng Hok Diing, Kapitan Chai Kuen Ming, Miri Chinese Association president Albert Tiong as well as the organising chairwoman and Miri Chinese Association Youth president Coffey Wong.
