-

SHAH ALAM: The Klang Magistrate’s Court yesterday issued an order to have Jaringan Melayu Malaysia (JMM) president Datuk Azwanddin Hamzah remanded for four days from yesterday to assist in investigation into an alleged provocative remark.

Magistrate Nik Nur Amalina Mat Zaidan issued the order under Section 506 of the Penal Code. Azwanddin, who is also the advisor of Gagasan Tiga Malaysia (G3), was represented by lawyer Datuk Imran Tamrin.

At a gathering organised by Gerakan Rakyat Malaysia (Geras) at Dataran Seni, Klang, near here last Tuesday, Azwanddin allegedly made a provocative remark threatening to storm the Klang Police Station if those responsible for the death of firefighter Muhammad Adib Mohd Kassim were not arrested.

Muhammad Adib, who was attached to the Subang Jaya Fire & Rescue Station, died on Dec 17 at the National Heart Institute (IJN) after he was severely injured on Nov 27 during the riots at the Seafield Sri Maha Mariamman Temple in USJ 25, Subang Jaya.

Some people claim that Muhammad Adib was injured in a vehicle accident while others allege that he was assaulted by several rioters.

Thepolice arrested Azwanddinat 2.40pm on Tuesday at the Keramat Mall in Jalan Datuk Keramat, Kuala Lumpur, for having allegedly threatened to storm a police station. — Bernama
