Jepak service centre launches website to reach out to young voters

-

BINTULU: The official website of DUN N67 Jepak service centre (dun67.net) was officially launched by Jepak assemblyman Datuk Talib Zulpilip on Saturday evening.

The website is run by a group of young educated minds led by Alhadi Mat as a medium to disseminate relevant information on development projects in the constituency.

It also functions as a platform to counter any slanders by irresponsible parties against Talib especially on social media.

Talib who is Minister in the Chief Minister’s Office ( Integrity and Ombudsman) congratulated Alhadi or better known as Achim for the initiative in creating the website to help him to reach out to the young voters who are mostly social media users.

He said technology will keep on changing and evolving and one cannot deny the effectiveness of the technology in affecting the confidence of the people towards the ruling government.

“Last October, I was invited to Universiti Malaysia Kelantan and five other universities working together to organise a forum on media literacy.

“Based on the experts not only from Malaysia, in our smartphone it can build or destroy so we have to be up-to- date because based on my experience, many who have the expertise are using it to spread slanders and we must be careful,” said Talib.

He said during his early years as an elected representative, he had encountered a series of attacks and during that time these irresponsible parties only used email to influence and spread lies to damage his reputation.

“The launch of this website is timely to show the reality of what is happening on the ground instead of hearsay from the opposition so let us work together to serve the people,” he added.

Meanwhile head of DUN N67 Jepak Digital Media Unit Alhadi Mat said with the website, the people will have an easy access on the relevant information without having to go to the service centre office.

“They can just download the forms and email it back for further action,” he added.

For further details, the admin of the website can be contacted at No119, Level 1, Jalan Masjid, Taman Sri Dagang, Fax: 086-337532 or email: admin@dun67.net.
