COLOURFUL GATHERING:

Dudong assemblyman Datuk Tiong Thai King (standing front, sixth left), who is also Sibu Municipal Council chairman, joins members of United People’s Party (UPP) in a photo-call with lion dance performers at the Tua Peh Kong Temple in Sibu. Tiong, who is UPP Dudong chief, led a visit to the temple yesterday, where he performed the traditional ‘eyedotting’ ceremony on two ‘lions’, imported from Vietnam. It is learnt that the temple had just purchased the two ‘lions’ for the coming Chinese New Year celebration.
